Growing up whenever my sister or I were sick my mom would buy us a "get better" present. It would be a little thing, nothing major but it always made us feel special. I remember getting books, a Barbie doll or some other little toy I was into at the time.

Back in March JK started physical therapy for his toe walking. We've seen some improvements since then. He can now pedal a bike, something he could not do before. He can squat down and keep his feet flat on the floor. He can go up the stairs with his left foot flat but tippy toed on his right. He consistently stands flat footed instead of doing a tippy toe dance. But that's about as far as we've gotten. We went back to the children's orthopedist and were told he needs to be cast this coming fall. He'll spend 4 weeks in walking casts that resemble ski boots. We'll go in once a week to have them removed and recast. After the casts he'll wear braces to keep the correction in place and hopefully.....HOPEFULLY, he'll finally walk normally! I'll have to start thinking about a Halloween costume centered around his casts!

The girls have been busy making all sorts of bead and charm necklaces, bracelets, and anklets the past few days. JK wanted in on the action and was soon modeling his shell with carved wooden turtle necklace my sister bought him in Hawaii. I told him I would unscrew the clasp so he could wear it around his neck. Instead he decided to express himself by wearing it a tad differently.
