Results - Week 6

These past 6 weeks have flown by. Here we are on the final weigh-in for this challenge. Thank you Amy, for so kindly reminding me that I did not post for week 5. Oops. Maybe it was intentional, maybe not. I'll never tell!

My personal goals for this challenge:
~ Keep a food journal
~ Lose 10 pounds

How did I do? Well, not so hot. I was definitely inconsistent with the food journal and my total weight loss is......drum roll, please.......I made it halfway and lost 5 pounds.

Even though I will not be reporting in every week I will continue to lose those extra pounds and tackle that stinkin' food journal! After all, I only have 6 weeks or so until I see some amazing people! (Not to mention having to put a bathing suit on...Lord have mercy!)

Keep up YOUR good work and as always, let me know how this past week went for you!

Results - Week 4

Good news this week! I hopped on the scale this morning and rejoiced when I saw a loss!! FINALLY. I am still struggling with sugar and CHOCOLATE. One day at a time. Heck, one hour at a time.....

Can't wait to hear from all of you! Until next week, here's to being healthy!!

Results - Week 3

We're half way through the challenge! There are only 3 weeks left until June! So hard for me to believe.......

I've been saddled with a nasty cold this week. Though I still got up and hit the treadmill I only walked. No running for me. I've been EXHAUSTED during the day so my usual activity level has been greatly depleted. I feel like week after week I have excuse after excuse. Maybe I'm weaker than I thought I was. Maybe this is a "pride cometh before the fall" situation. I'm usually so cocky when it comes to loosing weight and do not always understand when others have a hard time dropping the pounds. OK! Lesson learned! How much longer need I suffer? Lord, have mercy!!

No weight loss this week. BUT I DID control my CHOCOLATE cravings. I consider this an amazing feat in light of the timing of my womanly cycles!

It's your turn to share your week! Can't wait to hear!!

Results - Week 2

Here it is, week 2 of our 6 week challenge. How are you doing? I am happy to report that my exercise was up this week - 5 days out of 7. My food journal also saw improvement - I had more recorded than Pizza Hut and Mickey D's salads! Lots of water, increase in fresh fruit and vegetables. BUT the one thing I still do not have a complete handle on is: CHOCOLATE! Ever since I was pregnant and nursing JK I crave SWEETS & CHOCOLATE! It is highly frustrating to me. I know all of the tricks to use. Truly I do. I only indulge in DARK CHOCOLATE, I take out a piece at a time and freeze the rest of the bag so I'm not tempted to eat more. Blah, blah. Blah, blah......

For this week, I am pleased with the improvements in my activity level and eating BUT I did not lose any weight (damn that CHOCOLATE). Onward and upward to next week! Good luck to you all! Don't forget to let me know how you did this week!!

Ready to Have My Butt Kicked!

Well, I guess it's time. It's time to let Jillian kick my can! The other night I was talking to a friend about these DVDs and how I was thinking of buying them. She said, "Don't bother. You can have mine!" Well, okay then! She HATES them so she dropped them off last night for me to try. I'll let you know how it goes. Maybe I'll end up hating them giving them away too! Have any of you tried these before? Any thoughts?

Results - Week 1

Well, guys.......I have pie in my face. I can't believe I started this challenge during the girl's Spring Break. What was I thinking? OK. Here's the scoop: I GAINED .2 pounds. Sooooooo, now I have 10.2 pounds to lose!!!

Also, my food journal was pitiful. It consisted of Pizza Hut breadstick's at Target and McDonald's Southwest Salads.

And exercise? Um. Yeah. Twice. Two days during the whole week. That's it.

There you have it! My HONEST feedback. So much for a great kick-off to this challenge. I WILL do better this week! Check in with me next week.......keep me accountable!!!!!!!

So, how'd you do? Can't wait to hear about your successes!

Portion Plate

Take a look at this nifty plate. Yes, it's a bit pricey (retails at $24.50) BUT it's a really great idea for those of us who need help in the visual department. Better yet, how about designing your own portion control plate at a paint-your-own-pottery studio? Just remember to choose a smaller sized plate instead of the average dinner plate that measures in at 11.5"!

Do you think the 5 peanut butter cookies I ate last night have a place on this plate?

Starting New

(via 100 Percent Cottam)

Today is my first weigh-in for the 6 week challenge I have set for myself (and hopefully for all of you who are looking to improve a certain area in your own life).

The Result: 0 loss/gain

Now remember I just started this YESTERDAY! Next week will be a loss! Positive Thinking, Folks....that's the key!

Now it's your turn! Let me know what goal you are working towards! And remember to check back in next week (keep me accountable, PLEASE) and share your successful week with the rest of us!

6 Weeks to A Healthier YOU and ME

Enough is Enough!!

I have had it with myself and I have had it with my friends who complain, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN about losing weight or getting fit or looking and feeling better or.........(you can fill in the blank).

I jumped on the scale this morning and was hit between the eyes with the knowledge that I put on 10 pounds of winter fat! I couldn't believe it! I am nipping this in the bud (or butt, depending on how you look at it) IMMEDIATELY and am challenging you to join me!!

My goal over the next 6 weeks is to lose these 10 pounds AND keep a food journal! What's your goal?

-make healthier eating choices and control your portion sizes?

-develop an exercise routine or upping your current routine?

Whatever it may be, take the first step and commit to doing it! Leave a comment on this post and let me know what it is you will be working on!

Each TUESDAY report in how you're doing. For me, I will weigh myself Tuesday mornings and post the results. On that week's post leave your comment on how you are doing. At the end of the 6 week period, a reward will be given out to the person who accomplishes their goal or who came the closest to reaching it.

OK?
Any questions?
DON'T BE CHICKEN!!!! JOIN IN THE FUN (and remember, the count-down to bikini season has begun!!!!)
Because here we go......
Get ready.....
Get set.....
GO!!

P.S. 6 weeks from now is my 13th Wedding Anniversary!!!!! Good timing I would say!!!!
