Wish List

READER BEWARE: This post is chock full of selfishness!!!!!
Every year DK and I ask each other to make up Christmas wish lists to help guide our Christmas shopping. His is usually full of computer stuff. And socks. He always wants new socks. Mine has run the gamut over the years. Without further ado I present this year's wish list! (Remember I said WISH list!)
I'm in need of a new vest for the warmer winter days...you know when it's in the low 40's!

I lost my iPod to Rand.
This little teeny iPod would work perfect as I train for my half marathon!

Jillian kicks my butt every morning with these DVDs...
Might as well give the 30 Day Shred a try!

Need this too!

My poor treadmill isn't sounding very healthy. I've just about burned the motor out. Yes, we can just replace the motor along with a belt and have it working fine BUT why not try this out?
Before you begin to think all I want/need is exercise related...let me throw these few things in as well!
James Christensen (my favorite artist!)

Gift card to Pottery Barn (perfect stocking stuffer!)

I bought these Fit Flops on Cyber Monday. Just givin' my hubby a hand at this gift buying thing!

Such a good movie...LOVE the music!

In today's mail there was a coupon for 25% off my total purchase at my local Coach store...

Can't pass that up!
Here's my pick!

Okay....now it's your turn! Go on and dream and let me know what you come up with!
I promise to be much less selfish from here on out!!

Thanks Liza for this fabulous award!
You are so sweet to think of me!

To wrap up this fabulously crazy post I'll end with a fabulously crazy idea. Yesterday I was putting candles in the windows like I do every year. But this year I wasn't a worried mess about the candles "accidentally" falling off the windowsills and the light bulbs shattering on the hard wood floor.

Here is the above said hard wood floor.

Here is the aforementioned candle on the windowsill.

Here is the reason why I am not worried about glass bulbs shattering.
Silicone!
2 bulbs for $.99=peace of mind!

Music to My Ears

I am sitting in DK's office going through our iTunes music library and putting songs on my new iPod (from my Christmas wish list). Over the years I have had the opportunity to play the piano and sing solos for many, many occasions: Weddings, funerals (lots of funerals!), concerts, choral groups, church choirs, etc. Whenever DK is in the audience he makes a recording and then adds it to our iTunes library. I was just listening to one particular song when JK walked in and said, "Nice song, Mom!"

So sweet. Such a good little boy!

On My Wish List

Yes, I know I'm supposed to be packing.
Yes, I know it is almost 8 PM and I have not fed my family dinner yet.
Yes, I know it is the Sabbath and I have no business thinking of shopping
BUT....
I really like these.
I always struggle with floral arranging.
Look how simple (not to mention simplistic) this is!

I've been wanting one of these for a couple of years.
I even have the chair on the left (though mine is painted turquoise).

Sleep Habits

Do you think there is such a thing as getting too much sleep? I don't think there is. Personally, I need at least 8-9 hours of sleep each night PLUS (if possible) an afternoon nap. Believe you me, I WISH I didn't need to sleep that much. But the sad truth is if I DON'T get enough sleep I become sick. Then what good am I? I'm not sure what I'm going to do when JK no longer takes an afternoon nap. It's so nice to put him down for his nap and then put myself to bed as well. Back at the end of December my doctor told me to stop feeling guilty about the amount of sleep I need. My official diagnosis is "fatigue". I do not have chronic fatigue, thank goodness, just mommy fatigue. Whenever I'm feeling a bit limp I say, "Oh, you'll have to excuse me. I have the fatigue".

DK is the exact opposite of me. First off, he's the night owl; I'm the early bird. He gets his second wind when I am getting ready to go to bed for the night. He stays up to 1:30 or 2:00 almost every morning. He rolls out of bed around 7ish. Physically he hardly ever needs a nap.....though a sure way for him to fall asleep is to read a book! I do not know how he made it through 7 years of college!!! In over 12 years of marriage I have finally come to the conclusion that I'm not gong to change my sleeping habits and he isn't either. It used to bother me for several years that we did not go to bed at the same time. If DK's home he comes up and tucks me in! How crazy is that? We have our prayers, etc. and then off he goes to work on his never-ending list of things to get done. Now I see the benefits for being opposites: he can stay up when the kids are out late at night and I will be up early to get them off to seminary and school!

Poor Rand also has a hard time falling to sleep at night. There are nights when I'm headed off to bed and she's still wide awake. Just one more reason to homeschool. She can sleep later in the morning and not have to get up for the bus.

It's now time for lunch and you know what that means! NAPTIME is just around the corner!!! Sweet dreams everyone!!!

UPDATE:
When I went to get JK and put him down for his nap, this is what I found. I think he takes after me and I shouldn't be too worried about him giving up that nap any time soon!!

Busy as a Bee!

Life has been so busy lately. I have been writing tons of blog posts....too bad they're all written in my head and never make it on to my actual blog! Don't you all wish you could read my mind and see what I would have written if I had had the time? I also want to say how sorry I am that I have not been commenting on all of your wonderful blogs! My google reader has close to 2,000 posts I have yet to read....

I'm very excited to have joined a new blogger exercise group: Moving Forward Monday over at A Goddess in Progress. Heather has put together a fabulous group and is so dedicated to making our walk (or run) across America a huge success. It's not too late to join in the fun...head over and sign up today!

BTW, I'm happy to report I logged 18.5 miles last week! Wahoo!!

I have so much going on right now that the running is the perfect way to eliminate stress. That and peanut M&Ms! I'm off to work on the following list while I pop a few M&Ms...then I'll go for a short run tonight to offset the guilt from eating the M&Ms!

-PTO mission statement
-PTO parent survey
-Kenners 8th birthday preparations
-Kenners baptism preparations
