Look who turned 3 today!
Though I am drugged up and still not feeling well
I had to take JK out to celebrate his birthday.
He was so excited to go to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch...
...until we walked in the thunder was rumbling,
the lightening was flashing,
 and the gorillas were "ooh-ooh-ahh-ahhing"...
...JK stopped dead in his tracks and told me it was too scary...
...so off to McD's playplace we went!
After playing with other kiddos and his best pal Piggy we drove
down the road to Target and bought a new monster truck.

Total amount spent on this crazy birthday outing?
$8.37!
I wonder how much his 13th birthday will cost me?

Sorry you're still not feeling well! Glad you were able to take your son out for a birthday lunch! He sure is a cutie! Three years old, huh? I really miss those days! Yes, be ready for when he becomes a teenager...lunch at McD's isn't going to cut it, anymore! That's coming from someone who knows firsthand!

Funny! Happy Birthday to your cute little guy!

My girls are terrified of the Rainforest Cafe. I don't think we'll ever go there again!

Hey Rae,

It would have cost a lot more if you ate at the Rainforest Cafe. I agree with JK, it's too scary! Happy birthday to the little man. Hope you feel better soon! :-)

Love it. We stopped spending tons of money on over the top birthdays and make it much more about a family celebration. Mostly because with five kids... I was always spending way too much money on birthdays with friends and not enough time and fun with family.

Elijah turns 10 on Saturday and he is having two families over for traditional Mexican food.

Total cost? El cheapo! I mean how expensive can rice and beans, and homemade tortillas be?

P.s., We LOVE the Rain Forest Cafe. It is just so far.

Oh, too cute! I know what you mean. Kids can be pleased by the cheapest most simplest form of entertainment. They just want to have fun and spend time with you!

I've got something for you on my blog! :)
